    Pawan Kalyan's Sardaar Gabbar
    Singh has finally been sold off to
    Star Maa TV for record price.
    So far the highest amount a Telugu
    film has fetched for satellite rights is
    Rajamouli's epic movie "Baahubali"
    which was bagged by the same TV
    channel. But the channel bagged
    the rights of Baahubali for two parts
    together for nearly Rs 30 Cr.
    According to sources, Maa TV paid
    nearly Rs 12 Cr for the rights of
    "Sardaar Gabbar Singh". This is said
    to be highest amount for the rights
    of a Telugu movie other than the
    "Baahubali".
    Although Zee Telugu and Gemini TV
    also competed for the rights, the
    channels backed off when the
    producer Sharat Marar quoted hefty
    price of Rs 15 Cr. Finally he came
    down to give it for Rs 12 Cr and Maa
    TV immediately bagged it.
