తెలుగు సినిమాలకు అవార్డులిస్తూ వస్తున్న ఏకైక చానల్ మాటీవీ ఈ ఏడాది ఆ సంప్రదాయానికి మంగళం పాడింది. 2006 నుంచి ఏటా క్రమం తప్పకుండా జూన్ నెలలో ఈ అవార్డుల కార్యక్రమం కొనసాగిస్తున్నప్పటికీ ఈ సంవత్సరం ఆపేసింది. అయితే, ఇది తాత్కాలికమా, వచ్చే ఏడాది మళ్ళీ మొదలుపెడుతుందా అనే విషయం మీద చానల్ లో ఎవరూ నోరు మెదపటం లేదు. మార్కెటింగ్ విభాగం కొంత బలహీనపడటం వల్లనే ఆదాయాలు తగ్గాయని ఒకవైపు, యాజమాన్య నిర్ణయాల వల్లనే ఆదాయం పెంచలేకపోయామన్న మార్కెటింగ్ విభాగపు సమాధానం మరోవైపు కొంత గందరగోళానికి దారితీయటం మీడియావర్గాల్లో చర్చగా మారింది. అదే సమయంలో మార్కెటింగ్ విభాగాధిపతి ఆకస్మిక రాజీనామా ఆ వార్తలను ధ్రువపరచింది. ఇలాంటి వాతావరణంలో సిని’మా’ అవార్డులలాంటి భారీ కార్యక్రమం చేపట్టటం సాధ్యం కాదన్న అభిప్రాయంతోనే ఈ సంవత్సరం నిలిపివేశారని కొంతమంది వ్యాఖ్యానిస్తున్నారు. అయితే, మీలో ఎవరు కోటీశ్వరుడు లాంటి భారీ కార్యక్రమం చేపట్టటం వలన సినిమా అవార్డుల కార్యక్రమం వదిలేసి ఉంటారని మరికొందరు సర్ది చెప్పుకుంటున్నారు. అయితే, ఈ రెండింటికీ సంబంధం లేదని, ఒక ఆదాయ అవకాశాన్ని మా టీవీ చేజేతులా వదులుకోవటంతో బాటు ఏడేళ్ళ సంప్రదాయానికి మంగళం పాడినట్టయిందన్న అభిప్రాయపడుతున్నవాళ్ళే ఎక్కువమంది ఉన్నారు.
